Erwin Diekwisch

Erwin-Peter Diekwisch (12 August 1920 – 20 August 2013)〔http://www.saladeguerra.com.br/2013/09/nota-de-falecimento-erwin-peter.html〕 was a Hauptmann in the Luftwaffe during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. During his career, Diekwisch was credited with flying 934 missions, destroying 64 tanks, 2 trains, and 12 aerial victories.〔For a list of Luftwaffe ground attack aces see ''List of German World War II Ground Attack aces''〕
